Hey City Church Greenfield family! We're continuing our journey through "42 Days of Purpose…Together" with Week 2, where we explore the incredible truth that we are created to bring joy to God.
Imagine your life as a melody, with every thought, word, and action adding a note to a song that God loves to listen to. He created us not just to exist but to bring Him joy, to make Him smile, and to be the soundtrack of His pleasure. That’s a powerful thought, isn’t it?
Big Idea of the Day: We Are Created to Bring Joy to God
This week, we’re focusing on how our lives can become a beautiful song that pleases God, not just on Sundays but every day. Key
Scriptures:
Romans 12:1-2 (NIV): "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will."
Philippians 4:8-9 (NIV): “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.”
John 4:23-24 (NIV): “Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Points to Ponder
#1. Worship Is a Lifestyle Choice Worship isn’t just for Sundays; it’s a continuous act of offering our entire selves to God. Romans 12:1-2 reminds us that worship is about being a "living sacrifice," choosing daily to live for God. It’s about more than music—it's about our time, energy, passions, decisions, and even our daily grind.
#2. Bring Joy to God…Daily Our everyday lives can bring joy to God through our thoughts, actions, and choices. Philippians 4:8-9 gives us a roadmap: fill your mind with things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and admirable. When we put these into practice, we not only live better lives, but we also bring joy to God, like a proud parent watching their child make good decisions.
# 3. True Worship Is About Surrendering True worship isn’t just about singing songs; it’s about surrendering our will to God’s. John 4:23-24 speaks of worshiping in spirit and truth—this means coming to God with open hands, ready to let go of our own agendas and trusting that His way is better.
Action Steps:
Here’s how we can apply this message to our lives this week:
1 -Evaluate Your Daily Routine - Think about your daily routine. Where are the opportunities to make your everyday moments an act of worship? Maybe it’s in your morning routine, how you conduct yourself at work, or how you interact with your family.
2- Align Your Thoughts and Actions with What Pleases God
Are there areas in your life where you’re not aligning with what pleases God? Start making intentional choices that reflect the things that are true, noble, and pure.
3-Surrender What You’re Holding Back - Is there an area of your life that you’ve been holding back from God? What would it look like to surrender that to Him and trust Him with it?

What does it mean to you that your life is meant to bring joy to God?
How can you make worship a lifestyle choice in your daily routine?
What’s one area of your life you need to surrender to God?
How can you start that process this week?
